New York City Team Handball Club is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization and was founded in 1973 by a few UN employees. Our purpose is to inspire all our members (69+ different countries) to live and breathe the Olympic values of friendship, inclusion, courage, respect and excellence. We are dedicated to the spirit of team handball, the physical and emotional benefits it provides and more importantly connecting people from around the globe in the greatest city on earth.

Unforgettable Moments with Staffan Olsson in New York City!

The Swedish powerhouse, the legendary Staffan Olsson known for his lethal left-handed shots held a handball clinic in New York City.

Olsson, the man with 358 caps for 🇸🇪 Sweden, 4-European Championship Gold🥇 Medals, 2-World Championship Gold🥇 medals and 4-Olympic Silver🥈 medals under his belt created an unforgettable experience for all our members who enjoyed an intense 5-hour session with one of the most decorated handball players in the world.

The Legend Jérôme Fernandez Builds Memories in New York City!

Jérôme Fernandez, the handball superstar and French National Team's top scorer, was right here in the Big Apple! For a whole week, he ran training sessions with our club members and local school kids.

Imagine meeting one of the world's greatest handball players – a guy with two 🥇 Olympic Golds, four 🥇 World Championships, and three 🥇 European Championships under his belt? Well, we did, and we are privileged and super happy we got to spend time with the 🇫🇷 French legend.

 
 

Train Like a Pro Mission Complete

It’s been an amazing weekend of intense handball training with the MHB - Montpellier Handball assistant coach David Degouy. We’ve faced many challenges to get this done and finally we did it. The Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 are postponed, but that didn't stop Ben Aaron from his pursuit of finding the most 'obscure' Olympic sports played in New York City and giving it a try. Enjoy the video and Ben's attempt to make it to the Olympics (not this year).

Super Globe Miracle

For the first time ever a handball club from the USA qualified for the IHF Super Globe tournament. A documentary was done by Ryan Homsy that showcases the passion, dedication, and determination of the New York City boys to achieve this historic feast.

Times Square is known as the center of the world, and we made sure handball was also played there. We had a fun time showcasing our sport to our city and thousands of people who were mesmerized by this ‘new’ sport right in the heart of the city.

USA Team Handball and NYC Team Handball Club taught handball to children participating in a recent 3x3 basketball tournament hosted by the New York Edge and the Knicks.

 

When we made the impossible, possible

For five consecutive years New York City Team Handball Club in partnership with Teamsportreisen hosted The Big Apple tournament the largest international handball event in the USA, since Atlanta Olympics in 1996.

The biggest and most legendary names of handball, such as Wislander, Abati, RIchardson, Vranjes, Fritz, Svenson, Massip, Xepkin, Dzomba, Sprem, Lovgren, Hens joined us for a weekend of non-stop handball and fun in the greatest city in the world.
