The Shrewsbury-Windle House was on recently featured on the Magnolia Network Show "In With The Old." HMI's Executive Director welcomed the Beck's to the Shrewsbury-Windle House as they began their rehabilitation of a building on Main Street.  Check out Season 5, Episode 5 to see the Shrewsbury-Windle House and learn more about the Beck's project.  


Walking Tours Are Back!  

Join us on one of the following dates:

The tours start at the north end of the Broadway Fountain. You can meet a guide for a tour. Each tour lasts about 60-90 minutes and is approximately 3/4 of a mile distance. 2023 Association of Midwest Museums Innovative Leadership Award Virtual Event Recording

Jessica Spiess, Director of Programs with HMI, received the 2023 Association of Midwest Museums Innovative Leadership Award in July 2023.  As part of the celebration, John Staicer, Executive Director and President of HMI, and Jessica got together for a discussion about how innovation happens at HMI and what those innovations look like day-to-day and long-term.  Watch the recorded video to learn more! 

2022 Reindollar Award Winner

The 2022 award went to Larry & Valecia Crisafulli for their long-term commitment to historic preservation and community improvement including rehabilitation of the Elks Lodge and 108 W Main St. properties, and for their participation/leadership with Historic Madison, Inc., the Madison Main Street Program, Historic District Board of Review, PACE grant committee, Envision Jefferson County and others.
