Standing Finance Committee to consider $2.3b budget increase
Among the major supplementations which the committee will consider are $570,900,000; $155,677,500 ; $527, 800,000; $495, 286, 000 and $144,200,000 for the Energy, Works and Transport, Public Utilities, Health and Education Ministries respectively.

Syphilis rising in the Americas
Syphilis, a sexually transmitted bacterial infection, is a preventable and curable disease, but cases have escalated globally by over one million in 2022, reaching a total of eight million. The Americas currently face the highest incidence worldwide, with 3.37 million cases (or 6.5 cases per 1000 people), accounting for 42 per cent of all new cases.

Minister Ayanna Webster-Roy has said the victims of alleged sexual abuse at Couva Children's Home & Crisis Nursery have been removed from that facility.
