Participate in Oversight of Local Government - Join the Civil Grand Jury
Each Spring, the Mendocino County Superior Court recruits Mendocino citizens to volunteer for a one-year appointment as civil grand jurors. Jurors are not summoned, but instead volunteer to examine the operations of various local government entities and departments. The deadline for application submission is Friday, May 31, 2024. The 2024/2025 Grand Jury will be sworn in at the end of June 2024.

Court Plans to Launch a Juror Compliance Program
Mendocino Superior Court Jury Commissioner Kim Turner states, “The lack of response by potential jurors is alarming and impacts our ability to adjudicate cases, especially criminal cases. This situation has become so dire the court has no choice but to set up a compliance program that will compel a better rate of response from potential jurors.”

Mendocino County Superior Court seeks applicants to join the Mendocino County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission (JJDPC). The JJDPC seeks to promote evidence-based resources and services that can assist youth in avoiding contact and involvement with the justice system.

Mendocino County Superior Court Launches MyCitations
Mendocino County Superior Court is launching an online tool called “MyCitations: Ability to Pay”, available on the Court’s website. Users of the online tool can ask the court for fine reductions, payment plans, more time to pay, or convert their fines to community service.
