Miss Cupcake

I tend to try chocolate cupcakes wherever I go, so I know a thing or two about cupcakes. I would not go here again.

I appreciate the cuteness and the novelty of the shop near Sacré-Cœur, but the cupcake was sub-par. I'm guess I got a left-over cupcake from the previous day, as it was really dry and the frosting was rather hard. The cake was so dry that it was a lighter color. Not cool when you pay €3.50 for it. I didn't even eat it all... That's saying a lot coming from someone who loves cupcakes! My husband had the red fruit cupcake which was more moist inside but that may have been because it had a fruit filling. He said the cake was just okay and would not recommended. His frosting was hard too.

I don't like to give negative reviews, but I do review most places I go to, so this isn't just a negative review because I can write one. I'm sorry but find a gelateria or crepe shop instead.

I had a cupcake here a while ago when I was trying to hit all the cupcake places in the Paris area.
The texture wasn't the worst I've had, but the frosting was basically just whipped topping. I found it odd the eat in price was so high as compared to the take away. I ended up taking away and eating it within 10 min of leaving. Sadly, I can't even remember what flavor it was anymore. It honestly could have been anything the taste didn't grab me at all.

I found it to be not the best cupcakes in the 9eme but also not the very worst.

Why would I try a cupcake in Paris with the variety of French pastries available? Well, I am a cupcake & cookie connoisseur, and I saw this cute bakery during one of my visits to Paris, but was so full from the gelato and amande croissants, that I failed to try their treats. So during my last visit, my boyfriend and I were lured in, and while the bakery has sweet flair, I was a little disappointed with the baked goods. My cupcake was dry and the frosting was missing something...perhaps vanilla? I had a vanilla cupcake yet it was so bland. My boyfriend thought the cookie had a great texture but it was also missing flavor. And the cupcakes were pretty sloppy- a slab of frosting with no attention to detail.

Cute little cupcake/gelato place in Montmartre. Can't say anything about the cupcakes, but the gelato was good, although choices are limited to about 6 flavours. Service is friendly and there is usually not much of a line-up unlike other gelato places in the area.

Good stuff. The location is great-- down the hill from Montmartre, right behind the Abbesses Metro station, and next to a nice veggie cafe. The cupcakes are pretty good, and the ambiance of the place is delightfully overdone.
