Mass shooters are mostly male so why does the right-wing lie machine keeps saying the shooters are transgender? A former poster child for the Ku Klux Klan has released a memoir in which they come out as transgender. The 2024 Eisner Award nominees for excellence in comic art and graphic novels have officially been released and there are a lot of LGBTQ characters. Drag Race queen Pearl feels something about her triggers people. A Catholic diocesan hermit in Kentucky has come out as transgender. David de Alba will appear in a documentary on The History of Drag on CNN. A new law in Peru classifies trans people as mentally ill so they would be guaranteed medical care, but it backfired when protestors marched to demand the law be rescinded because they’re not mentally ill. Honey Mahogany is the new head of San Francisco’s Office of Transgender Initiatives. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals decides the states must cover gender-affirming medical care as a part of Medicaid. The Biden administration introduces a new rule under the Affordable Care Act that forbids discrimination against transgender people. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issues a new guidance which protects against being misgendered or denied the use of a restroom consistent with your gender identity at work. The Biden administration requires that LGBTQ and intersex foster children be placed in supportive homes only. The city council for Austin, Texas, approves a resolution offering local protections for gender-affirming care patients. Nine states with Republican state attorneys general have filed a suit challenging the Biden administration’s new rule on the definition of “discrimination on the basis of sex.” Tennessee, is sued over its long-standing policy of not changing the sex listed on birth certificates. Gwen Smith, the woman who started Transgender Day Of Remembrance, has been trying to update her records for over 30 years. The Human Rights Campaign has an article titled, “Seven Things About Transgender People You Didn’t Know.” A drag queen will be a torchbearer at the Olympic Games in Paris. A transgender activist in Hong Kong receives an identity card with his correct gender. Nicole Maines writes a memoir. A federal appeals court exempts a trans student from a ban on transgender athletes. The Department of Education releases its rule on Title IX which strengthens protections for transgender students. A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit which would have supported the Nassau County ban on transgender athletes. In Ohio a court issues a temporary restraining order prohibiting the enforcement of the state’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth. Kansas Governor Laura Kelly vetoes a ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoes the state’s Women’s Bill of Rights which would have replaced “gender” with “biological sex” throughout state law. Elliot Page is among the famous people on TIME magazine’s “Most Influential” list. Montana is sued over the state’s ban on changing the gender listed on state ID and driver’s licenses without surgery. A Missouri judge orders Planned Parenthood to turn over their records of transgender patients. The U.S. Supreme Court refuses to issue an injunction to stop the state of Idaho from enforcing its ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors. A new study seems to show the threat of violence against transgender people is rising. Scotland pauses prescriptions for puberty blockers for transgender minors.
