Considering the role played by Ovid’s Metamorphoses in codifying a pattern of collapse and rebirth, along with the influence of other Augustan and post-Augustan models, this workshop aims to explore the competition between cosmos and chaos in Flavian poetry, as well as to discuss the significance of this tension in light of imperial Rome.
