If you have recently enroled in Online Banking, or ordered a new code, your Activation Code should arrive in the mail within 10 business days. If your Activation Code has not arrived, you can order a new one online.
The Activation Code that is mailed to you will look like this:
How do I order a new Activation Code?
To order a new Activation Code,
- Sign in to Online Banking.
- When prompted to enter an Activation Code, select "Activation Code Not Received".
- On the following page, click "Order a new Activation Code".
- Enter your postal code and select "Submit".
- Your Activation Code will be mailed to you within 10 business days.
How do I activate my account?
To activate your account, youll need the Activation Code that was sent to you in the mail.
- Sign in to Online Banking.
- You will be prompted for your 7 digit Activation Code.
- Enter your code and select "Submit".
- Your account will now have access to the full functionality of Online Banking. Once that your account is activated you will no longer need your Activation Code.
Note: Make sure you enter your Activation Code before it expires by checking the "Valid Until" date you receive along with the code. If the date has passed you will need to order a new Activation Code before you can activate your account.

- Open a chequing or savings account
- Purchase a new Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)
- Apply for a Loan or Line of Credit
- Make payments to 3rd party credit cards
- Make payments to other RBC Royal Bank clients
- Change your address
- Order Cheques
- View and transact between both personal and business accounts with one single Online session
- View accounts from other financial institutions

Why do I need an Activation Code?
Our goal is to ensure the security and privacy of your Online Banking activities. RBC Royal Bank requires that all Online Banking clients enter an Activation Code before they can access the full functionality of Online Banking. This provides another level of security to your personal and/or business information and finances. Because the Activation Code is mailed directly to you, you can be assured that your personal or business finances are secure.
