Read The Full Q & A Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 6/2/2024Petr of Prague, Czech Republic Czech Republic asks...Hello,
one back-pass question, please.
These are situations that happen a few times a season but are never punished.
S1: The attacker comes from the side of the penalty area and passes towards the goal area. The defender kicks the ball to the goalkeeper and he catches it in his hands.
S2: The attacker is in the penalty area with the ball at his feet. The defender kicks the ball towards the goalkeeper. He takes it in his hands.
In my opinion, these are intentional passes. Why don't the referees whistle it? Considering the spirit of the game, I might as well let it continue. (they did not waste time, but prevented danger). In addition, opponents usually get angry.
I don't know ...

My son has started picking up bookings in games for this whereas at start of the season he was able to alert his defence to threat without a booking. He is not using offensive language in any of his instructions, but as his team are not great at retaining control of the game he can be shouting instructions alot....

Read The Full Q & A Law 6 - The Other Match Oficials 5/28/2024RE: Rec Under 18 Mike Hanson of Picton, Ontario Canada asks...As an assistant referee, I know that I will be running on only one half of the touchline during the game. My question is am I still responsible for indicating ball out of bounds and whose throw in it is for the touchline that I am actually running on? Read The Full Q & A Law 15 - The Throw In 5/27/2024RE: Under 15 Tyler of Vancouver, BC Canada asks...Hello, I have a question regarding throw ins.
The other day I was reffing a u15 match on a rainy day. For a couple throw ins, the ball kind of slipped out of the players' hands causing it to spin. All the players always stopped and wanted a foul throw, however should this be a foul throw? Both feet are on the ground, 2 hands are on the ball, and the ball was behind his head. And I seem to see this a lot, where the ball leaves the players hands awkwardly and the ball does something weird, but is still thrown into the field and those 3 rules aren't broken. I can tell what this foul looks like, but I can't explain it so it's inconsistent and some players also aren't aware of this law so I can't explain it to them. I also can't find ...

Situation:
During a football match, there is often physical contact between the defender and the attacker inside the penalty area.
Scenario:
Before the ball arrives, the defender may push the attacker or vice versa, prompting the referee to intervene and separate the players. In this case, there was contact between the defender and the attacker before the ball arrived, and the contact was mutual. The crucial point in this situation is the moment of the joint challenge for the ball between the attacker and the goalkeeper.
Is it a penalty kick or a foul to the defender?...

I found one video that perfectly illustrates exactly what I mean.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-QMZ-i9le8
Endo in an offside position blocks a defender who is close to a player who later scores.
And now let's imagine that another red player touches the ball in the air. Endo is already onside at that moment.
Will the goal count? If not, we don't assess the last touch, but the previous one. It's the same as my dribble example.
Thank you very much! ...
