      Don't bother with them. These people could give you a bullet point list of why they don't want your service. I spoke with multiple staff members here. First red flag was when they asked if I wanted only an estimate or planned to repair with them. In my multiple conversations with them I relayed the same expectation, I wanted to do my repairs with them and wanted to carry out the first step. First step is obviously an estimate and these people even specified over the phone that repairs could take awhile so initial appointment would be an estimate only. I was in no rush for my cosmetic damage so I was totally okay with it being a while before repairs could be done.

      I arrived for my scheduled appointment and from the moment I walked in they were so incredibly rude. First of all, I greeted this woman, not the other way around. She rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed when I told her I had an appointment. She seemed to be so put out that I had even showed up for the appointment. I used the word estimate and this just triggered her further. She got up and told me "I told you we don't do estimates on the phone!" I told her I spoke with not just her but other staff who confirmed this would not be a repair appointment but an estimate, because they were pushed back on repairs. She went on and on about how it's an INSPECTION only.

      Now, her use of the word "inspection" made sense. It's not an estimate since they're not putting a dollar amount on it nor claiming it to insurance yet. Now this was a simple misunderstanding and totally fine. But regardless of the terminology I used, that was what I expected when I made the appointment. I expected they would take a look at my car so I could schedule future repairs.

      Well, she went on to explain how she told me this and that about how they don't do just estimates it has to be repairs too and they couldn't do work on my car for about 3 months. I told her this was totally fine, I wasn't in a rush whatsoever. AND STILL she went on to tell me how I should look other places because of the delay and blah blah blah. She was persistent about trying to convince me to talk to my insurance about other options.

      If they don't want more business OKAY. BUT WHY WOULD YOU SCHEDULE ME TO BRING THE CAR IN??

      To be honest, I still don't know what she was mad about. I never met her with the attitude she gave me, and she should be embarrassed of her behavior. It seems they just don't want the business. But it makes zero sense that they make me an appt for me to bring in my car to get the ball rolling if they didn't want to take it on.

      Save yourself the nonsense and go elsewhere.

      Most reputable auto body shops will do a good job repairing body work. It's the customer service that differentiates one from the other.

      I went to BAC a few years ago with a car that, it turned out, had been totaled. Despite the fact that it was clear they weren't going to get any business from that car (since it couldn't be repaired), and despite the fact that I'd never been there before, they went the extra mile in treating me like a valued customer. So I returned there recently for a small repair job - replacement of my rear bumper. Again, they went the extra mile in helping me out, including helping me deal with the other driver's insurance (she was responsible), checking on minor mechanical maintenance, and helping me keep my costs low. They left my car looking nearly new - waxed on the outside and cleaned/detailed inside. Could you ask for much more?

      I even came away with a nice cold bottle of water and a little bag of beet seeds that they were giving away! I will certainly return there if I have more body work again (which I hope is never). I don't think you could do much better than them.

      This is by far the best auto body shop In the Bay Area.
      They do quality work along with excellent service.
      Recommend this shop to anyone looking to fix a fender bender or a full paint job.

      I had scraped my car on the side of my garage last year and booked my repair here through my insurance. It did take a few months for them to find some availability in their schedule, but after it was ready I'm pretty sure I was the worst customer. Things kept coming up and I had to keep pushing back by two months. They were gracious and easy to work with the entire time. When it came down to me actually going and getting it fixed, they made sure to get it done within a week. Great service, great value. Would absolutely come back.

      Turned to Yelp to find a place to get my recent collision fixed and just left an extremely happy customer!

      Started off with their service and receiving me. They will welcome you with a bottle of water (cold or room temp if you are picky) and do the standard walk and assess your damage. The process is smooth and they even took care of all the insurance company coordination which can be a pain when you just want to get your car fixed! They gave me the estimate and even warned me that it could take several weeks and asked if I needed it faster/rush.

      The next call I received less than 2 weeks later was "Car is ready." Let me just say, wow. It looks brand new (especially for a 1999 car) and seamless! They even washed and waxed the whole care for me and it looked amazing, as well as including an additional wax within 2 weeks.

      The customer service here is absolutely top level. The work and final product is absolutely of the highest degree and I wouldn't go anywhere else for more work. They were completely honest, didn't lie about costs or try to take advantage and extremely friendly. Not that I wish damage on cars, but if you have it you need to take it here.

      This place is literally 1 block from my house, so I figured I'd try them out to fix the body damage to my 2016 Golf. Everyone there was extremely pleasant to work with, suuuper reaponsive and gave me many updates on the status of my vehicle. They even washed it for me and told me 2 weeks after I picked it up I can bring it in again for a wash and wax! I can't recommend this place enough and am so glad I live around the corner. Thanks guys!!

      Bay Auto fixed my car that was hit during a collision. Damages were close to $4.5K. Customer service was on spot, courteous and helpful. For example, while I waited to picked up by Enterprise for my rental, and Enterprise was late, they offered to drive me to the car rental place themselves. As for workmanship, I received the car back, detailed inside, and waxed outside. Car looks great! Thank you Bay Auto.

      Don't waste your time... Yesterday, I tried to make an appointment to get my car in for an estimate. The guy that picked up the phone was giving me all the reasons why I cannot make one. 'They need to verify with my insurance first.' 'He needs my claim number' (which I didn't have when I made that call.) He said there is a process he would have to go through. etc.. bla bla bla... Then he finally said, "Oh... and you'll also have to pay $100 for an estimate, then you can claim that with your insurance." WTF. That is something I've never heard of. $100 for an estimate..? Good-Bye new business...!! At least you're not going to get my business. All of this is just to get an estimate? There are plenty of other body shops around Oakland.

      My car was rear ended and I was not at fault I had to wait for the other insurance company to pay out. The insurance company severely under quoted the damage and then refused to pay the total cost in addition to a rental car and said they would only pay out $5000 minus the 3 days for the rental car thay was not the same size or class as my personal vehicle. Bay auto was very underrated and worked with me and the insurance company to get my car fix. They are very professional and got my car fix including some other issues in less time than initially estimated. They also washed and waxed my car. I couldn't be happier with thier services I will be using them for any future work and highly recommend them
