Jasson Dominguez

NYY Center Fielder #89

Jasson Domínguez, who had been limited to DHing since beginning his rehab assignment, played five innings in center field Wednesday.

He went 1-for-2 before being lifted. Domínguez, making his way back from Tommy John surgery, is batting .317 with two homers in 11 games. It sounds like he’ll probably be optioned to the minors once his rehab assignment concludes, though an injury in the Yankees outfield could change that.
Marcus Semien

TEX Second Baseman #2

A “banged up” Marcus Semien is out of the Rangers lineup Wednesday for the first time since May 12, 2022.

Semien has been playing at less than 100 percent after colliding with Adolis García in left field on May 18 and is just 4-for-33 at the plate in eight games since the incident. The Rangers are off Thursday and are hoping that a two-day break will help.
Kerry Carpenter

DET Left Fielder #30

Tigers placed OF Kerry Carpenter on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 27, with lumbar spine inflammation.

Carpenter’s back has been bothering him since the weekend, though the Tigers made no mention of it until today. It’s a big loss for the Tigers, as Carpenter has been easily the team’s best hitter (.283/.342/.572 in 163 PA). They’ll probably give Mark Canha a fair amount of DH time in the coming weeks and use Matt Vierling pretty regularly in the outfield, with Andy Ibáñez picking up some extra starts at third.
TJ Friedl

CIN Left Fielder #29

Reds activated OF TJ Friedl from the 10-day injured list.

It sounded like this was still at least a few days away, but the Reds are bringing Friedl back from a thumb fracture without the benefit of a rehab assignment. He’ll resume playing center field most of the time, and Jacob Hurtubise will probably head to the bench for the most part, though he might have a chance to start over Will Benson if he gets hot.
Josh Naylor

CLE First Baseman #22

Josh Naylor hit two homers to drive in five runs and lead the Guardians to a 13-7 win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

We’ve liked Naylor as a sleeper pick to lead the AL in RBI, but José Ramírez, batting one spot ahead of him, just isn’t cooperating thus far; Ramírez leads the majors with 56, while Naylor is third in the AL with 40. We’re still not sure whether Naylor has really gotten hot yet. On the one hand, his 15 homers in 52 games are just two fewer than he hit in 121 games last season. On the other, his .234 average is down 74 points from last year’s .308 mark.
Davis Schneider

TOR Second Baseman #36

Davis Schneider went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Schneider doubled to kick off the game, but his second double, which came in the second inning, drove in two runs to give the Blue Jays an early 3-0 lead. He would add another RBI in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly to score George Springer, upping his RBI total to 28 on the season. Schneider is hitting a solid .255 on the year and is slashing .250/.368/.487 this month. While he’s not hitting for an overly high average, he’s offered decent power and an ability to drive in runs.
Freddy Peralta

MIL Starting Pitcher #51

Freddy Peralta allowed one earned run and three hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out 11 in Tuesday’s loss to the Cubs.

Peralta was solid in this one, striking out 11 batters while allowing just five total base runners. A solo homer by Michael Busch in the third inning was his lone blemish on the night, as Peralta largely held the Cubs in check. He was bailed out of a loss thanks to a two-out RBI single by Willy Adames in the ninth and is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 11 games. Peralta will look to pick up his first win since April 30th when he makes his next start on Sunday against the White Sox.
Ben Brown

CHC Starting Pitcher #32

Ben Brown pitched seven innings of no-hit ball in the Cubs’ win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Brown was excellent in this one. The righty needed just 41 pitches to get through the first four innings and struck out six of the first 12 batters he faced to start the game. His two walks allowed were his lone blemishes on the evening, but Brown has now allowed just two hits in his last 13 innings pitched while boasting a 19/5 K/BB ratio. Brown lowered his ERA to 2.72 on the season but was robbed of his second win after Hector Neris blew a save opportunity in the ninth. Brown will look to continue his hot streak in his next start on Sunday against the Reds.
Jose Miranda

MIN Third Baseman #64

Jose Miranda went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

Miranda singled in the bottom of the first two to drive in two runs and gave the Twins an early lead. He’s now driven in four runs in his last two games and has hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games played. The Twins third baseman is slashing a solid .276/.313/.447 on the month and has five homers and 16 RBI on the season.
Francisco Lindor

NYM Shortstop #12

Francisco Lindor is dealing with a left index finger contusion.

The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative on Lindor’s finger after he hurt it attempting a bunt during Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a couple days off for the swelling to subside.
