    • My Thrustmaster just plugged in and was working correctly without any input from me. Have you checked to see if you have the latest drivers installed - I found some help on the Thrustmaster website. Check bindings in the Options/Controls menu.
    • Puzzled why you couldn't change to DX11, could have been a corrupted file that reinstalling sorted out.   For future ref rather than reinstalling, you could try to repair the sim through the Windows App Manager. Doesn't always work but worth a try.
    • Is your Airac version up-to-date? There was a new one issued today (2404) which was downloaded to the sim via an update. I don't fly the Fenix but do you need to update the Airac in the aircraft as you do in the PMDG B737?
    • A possible solution to stuck downloads, probably a corrupted file - sometimes happens if your internet connection hiccups. You should see the files loading on the left of the loading bar and will likely see one file being "loaded" over and over again. Stop the download, probably by forcing a shutdown, then you need to go into the sim file system and find that file - it will probably be in the MSFS/Microsoft Flight Simulator/Content folder but a search should locate it - and delete it. Restart the sim which will again check for updates and restart the loading but this time hopefully the errant file will download okay and you're good to go.
    • Hi Mike, See your PM.
    • Well, didn't quite achieve what I wanted to do with Sochi.  Although ATC use r/w 24 for take offs (correct) they are hell-bent on using r/w 20 for landing, no alternative given, from whatever direction I or AI aircraft are coming from.  There are no published STARs for 20 (or 24) and no published SIDs for 02 or 06.  Crossing the Caucasus Mountains at 12,000ft then descending in 25nm to r/w 20 means a scary dive, flaps and gear down at too high a speed....   Anyhow, it's all good fun!  This has been a learning experience, and even after 18 years flying FS2004 I'm still learning, and would never think of 'graduating' to later versions!  As usual, thanks for your help.  Maybe Sochi was a bad airport to try star/crosswind technique; somewhere like Tunis, far from high terrain would have been easier!
    • It'd be coffee in my case, I drank my last cup of tea on Sept 3rd 1965, at b'fast at my parent's house the day I got married (the first time.......) 🙂   Whatever I fly I want it to be something larger, with more engines, more space, a higher moment of inertia, and a GOOD autopilot. I'm tempted by the Aerosoft Boeing 314, which I have filed away somewhere on my archive drive. A very complex model, but very satisfying when you master its complexities.
    • Two ways.  You can edit the sound cfg or ini files (whatever FS2020 uses) and increase the level of the internal engine sounds;  or you can edit the wav files themselves and increase their volume (this is tricky, if the level is already near max any further increase could clip the signal and produce horrible distortion).   A third alternative, especially if only the one aircraft is using this sound set, is to lower the level of all the other sound files til they balance with the internal engine sounds.  You may then want to increase the overall system volume.
