Best day/night to avoid families with kids?
A:
Unfortunately you can't really avoid kids at Spa Castle anymore. They need to implement a "no kids" policy OR a day where no kids are allowed.

Visited the new relaunched Spa Castle today. Outside is freshly painted. Check in lobby looks bigger & the turnstiles have been removed.
Women's locker room have new white lockers.
Now they give you a robe & shoes with a towel. All has to be returned at the end of the visit.
Upstairs lobby area is very spacious. They have more sitting & lounge chairs.
Saunas have been updated as well.
Pool areas have been renovated as well.
Still more that's being updated.
Himalayan sauna needs to be hotter like it was before it was renovated. The pool right outside of the bar area....the water was murky green. Hot tub needs to be hotter as well.
Looking forward to seeing more renovations, think I will wait until about March - April to revisit.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 3Feb 18, 2022Previous reviewHeard about this place when it first opened. Then started to see bad reviews and the NY Post story. Finally didn't to check it out and I was actually surprised. This place would've gotten 5 stars if not for the repairs I feel like is necessary.
So found parking on the street
, a half block away. The lady at the front desk was a little slow. Then she got to an unruly customer who didn't have valid proof of vaccination. So they need at least 2 people at the front desk.
Went into the women's changing room and the first thing you have to do is put your shoes in the locker. Then you go into the changing room area. You can go to the restroom or the nude area to try the hot tubs, saunas or take a shower.
1st floor is the massage area, additional saunas and juice bar. It's an open area where you can relax as well. Very comfortable and quiet. The next floor up was the pool area. There's 2 indoor whirlpools and you have access to the outside pool area. There's also a bar. It was so windy today but the hot tub next to the kiddie pool area felt so good. Definitely need to repair the ceiling by the chair pool and the railing. Also there are some tiles missing from the seats in the pool.
The outdoor pool had wires exposed. The hot tub also had wires exposed.
The 3rd floor was the food area. Definitely had a selection for adults and kids. I only had cheese fries.
Overall, it's not a bad place to go. Some repairs are needed. You will definitely feel relaxed after leaving IF you are lucky enough not to be surrounded by kids and babies.
I would recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing spot that's not in the city. - Raymond L.Queens, Queens, NY6142512Mar 2, 2024
I haven't even gotten the chance to go. I had a grand re-opening purchase for 2 people and didn't have the time to go around that same month of the spa re-opening.
I tried to contact the Spa and was just sent to auto-voicemail which was extremely frustrating in the aspect that I needed information and clarification on why they shut down and what's gonna happen to my re-imbursement for those tickets. There was no one to assist me, no information in regards to why they shut down or when they would potentially re-open again. The spa was shut down in less than 2 months which is absolutely flabbergasting for the prices that they wanted to charge. I'm glad that they shut down, it's time to have different management and a different spa with different requirements and limits.
** After looking over reviews, a lot of people will agree that it is not a park for little kids ** Kids should have a separate area for a playground if the adults need to relax. You don't throw in " chaotic " with " relaxation." Just something for the next owner or management to understand.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 1 - Kevin L.Belleville, NJ0612Dec 26, 2023
Hey there,
I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my disappointing experience at Spa Castle today. I paid $60 to get in, but I found that they weren't properly checking the water with chemicals. There was a lot happening in the pool, so it seemed like it needed to be shocked.
To make matters worse, while sitting outside the water, I witnessed some inappropriate sexual acts going on in the hot tub. I immediately brought this to the attention of the locker room attendant, but unfortunately, he didn't take any action.
What shocked me even more was that the steam room turned into a full-on orgy, and these individuals didn't seem to care that kids were coming in and out. It's really sad because Spa Castle is such a beautiful place, but they definitely need some form of monitoring or control.
Honestly, I don't think I'll be going back again. It's just not the kind of environment I want to be in. Thank you for listening.
Take care.Helpful 15Thanks 3Love this 0Oh no 13 - Jaron A.New York, NY09Dec 18, 2023
I had a whole day planned with my SO who had never had a massage and would love all the different rooms at spa castle. I booked a couples massage and we were going to take an edible and just bliss out, having lunch and chilling in different kinds of hot rooms. She didn't know I'd booked this, and I had her friend bring me the things she'd need so it would be a nice surprise when we showed up there. We took a $50 uber to the place and were surprised to see a sign saying "closed until further notice" taped on the front door. There was someone inside, and I finally got her attention, but when she got to the door she wouldn't open it to explain anything, she just kept pointing at the sign taped on the door.
They had sent me an email the night before asking me to confirm my appointment, which I did. The morning of I double checked the email to make sure I didn't get any details wrong. They could easily have notified me before I blew 100 dollars on car rides there and back. They called me later on that day...after the time of my appointment (what was that supposed to do??) to let me know they were closed. Thanks!!! Thanks so much!!
Ruined the day, ruined my whole surprise Christmas present. Don't know what else to tell you. Go somewhere else. This place is run by clowns.Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 13 - 113192635Nov 9, 2023
I took a friend to this spa for their birthday. It was outrageously expensive for a facility that has kids playing everywhere. Robes, slippers, etc weren't provided.
We got a massage and it was so rough and not at all relaxing although we asked for less pressure.
The pool was packed! But the saunas were empty.
I don't think I'd go back. It was a nice thing to do once.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Aug 4, 2023
Ok, after years of wanting to try this place out, I MADE IT!
Firstly, I took an uber here from the train. Spa Castle no longer provides the shuttle to Main St. There seemed to be some parking around the area, but only street parking so I suggest getting in early.
As soon as I turned the corner, there was a line, but not out of the door so I was thankful. SN: I just travelled an 1hr and 1/2 from Brooklyn to get here, so nothing was turning me away. The line took around 15 minutes. $50 for weekdays and there is no time limit. I was given (1) tiny little hand towel and a watch.
I went to the lockers, which sync with the watchs given. The watch number is your locker number. Pretty easy to use once you find your number. Most people have flip flops, so I would suggest that.(It really should be no shoes all together but it makes sense to have flip flops, the place has many floors).
By the lockers, was the first pool room I saw. I honestly didn't even notice it was nude only. Like 6/7 different types of pools ranging from hot to cold. I was in there for awhile but then I was asked to leave because I was not nude. I told them I may come back later. Around the corner was a sauna, but way too hot for my liking. I popped my head in and out.
I walked up the 2nd floor, which I immediately skipped because I wanted to see the rooftop!
The 3rd floor has 3 sections outside, the kiddie zone and 2 outside pool areas with jets, showers and seats. Inside has two sides separated by a snack/food bar. Most people were getting ice cream or frozen drinks.
The rooftop was nice, and is maybe on a school day it would of been more relaxing. A lot of families with their kids, kids splashing all over the place like its a water park. I also felt is wasn't that hygienic after awhile. Some jets worked and some did not. I was pretty much 50/50. I stayed up there for about an hr and a half. Moving around trying to stay in the shape when possible.
After, I went back down to the 2nd second floor. This floor had a food shop. People were sitting around eating. On the side is mineral saunas and infrared red light area.
Overall, It was worth the $50 dollar. I will definitely try them another time.
Suggestions: Bring a towel and flip flops. Get there early. Come on a weekday.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - Enrique S.New York, NY04May 26, 2024
The pools, the sauna, the friendly staff. Just amazing. The cleanliness of the place is incredible, staff is always aware of anything that looks or needs cleaning.

I really wanted to do something different with my daughter so i decided to have a girls day here with her. I actually like the fact that you can bring your kids to this Spa.
The outside of the spa is huge. Looks like it used to be a warehouse. The entry process is pretty easy. You walk up to the counter, the person at the front desk asks for your ID and payment. Its $50 per person. My daughter is 11 so she also paid full price. They give you a wrist band with a number on it.
After paying you go into the 1st locker room and lock up your shoes. You use your wrist band to unlock all lockers. There are no signs showing you where the 2nd locker room is so I asked some of the staff and they pointed me into the right direction.
The locker rooms were clean, pretty spacious and easy to use. We locked up our remaining belongings and headed to the spa area. You have to bring your own towels here. I recommend bringing two, one to come in and out of the pool with and one to dry off with once your leaving the spa.
We ate at one of the food stations. We got pepperoni pizza and a fried chicken sandwich with fries. All of it was pretty good. Later on we did get a Frappuccino and that was good as well. At the bar my daughter had a pina colada and i had a frozen peach Margarita with patron. I loved the drinks.
We first visited the pool area. The kids section is still closed. The jacuzzi was open but the water was not hot. The pool was alot warmer then the jacuzzi. Most of the jets inside of the pool are broken so you cant truly enjoy the water massaging jets. Inside by the bar, theres a section where you can sit in the water on tables and have your drink. We sat there for a while and enjoyed the space. The opposite side has a pool with massage seating but they were all broken. The four to the left have water jets spraying at different pressures and the ones to the right of them don't even work.
After the pool we went to the saunas. They are located right next to the food sections. We layed on the infrared tables first. I loved that. There's space for six people to lay and six rows of lights which were all working. The ice sauna was closed. We visited each one of the heated saunas. The most bearable sauna was the Color Therapy room. It was warm and we were able to sit inside of some time. There's small little sections you can sit inside of that are different colors and each color is suppose to provide some sort of support. Some of the saunas were completely unbearable but we still visited each one and spent some time there. The salt sauna has a leak so there's a musty smell.
The hot tubs and small pools inside of the locker room are great. I dislike that you have to be completely naked to enter them. I feel like that's completely unnecessary. Swimsuits should be mandatory and no cover up, etc.
I like the ease of making purchases. You scan the band and pay it all at the end upon exiting. I ended up paying about $80 additional for the items we purchased inside.
Overall this place is good to try once or twice. It could be so much better IF they made some repairs to the amenities that are broken or leaky. It would also help if someone walked around with a pool net and clean up the hair in the pool. They should also make sure the jacuzzi temperature is hot. This place needs some tlc.
I had a good time here with my daughter. I still think its pretty awesome that children are allowed here. It's definitely somewhere i recommend trying once.Helpful 5Thanks 3Love this 5Oh no 1 - Emmy K.Willits, CA11081May 24, 2024
