Rev. Lisabeth Brimm passed away peacefully at McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich, MA on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Liz was the devoted life partner of 31 years to Carol M. Wester of Mattapoisett, MA.

Liz was born in Shawnee, OK to Preston and Lou Brimm, and had two beloved brothers, Patrick, and Michael, all of whom pre-deceased her. She is also pre-deceased by her much beloved Service Dog, and loving canine companion of 12 years, Ava.

Liz was a scholar, an accomplished woman, a self-made person, and always saw the best in everyone, and in every situation.

She graduated from Colorado College, having attended on a full academic Boettcher scholarship, where she was very active in social and women's rights causes. She also graduated from Andover Newton Yale Theological School, and took great pride in this, fulfilling a life-long dream of serving God, and helping others to enjoy God's presence and blessings.

Liz also had long and distinguished careers in software and hardware computer sales for major national companies, insurance sales, and served as a financial advisor for Edward Jones. She was the Protestant Chaplain for the Wrentham Developmental Center for several years, and proudly served people with intellectual disabilities. She most recently served as a Pulpit Supply minister at many area churches, and temporary pastor at the West Congregational Church in Taunton, which she enjoyed tremendously. She was also an active member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, and North Congregational Church in Middleborough.

Liz leaves behind her beloved companion Carol, as well as many dear friends, including Rev. Dale Thackery of Marion, Rev. Aimee Dion of Pocasset, and Havens Levitt of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also leaves her extended family members, Barbara and Douglas Bingham of Raynham, Janice Wester and Grace Trivers of Chelmsford, Andrew, Molly, and Colby Januse of Fall River, Martha Januse and Zelia Costa of Taunton, Treesie Allen of Dallas, Texas, Michael Martin and Amy Peterson of Fairhaven, and Grace Resendes of New Bedford.

Donna L. Hubbard, 77, of Marion died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.

She was raised in Mattapoisett and lived in town for most of her life.

Donna spent much of her time lovingly caring for her son, Paul, until his passing in 2009. She enjoyed having a good time with family and friends, shopping, and having her glass of sangria when she went out.

She is survived by loving family members and friends and was predeceased by her only child, Paul M. Hubbard.

William (Bill, Wild Bill) D. Titcomb of Marion, MA, passed away at the age of 83 on April 30, 2024. William was born in Keene, NH, graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1958, and graduated from the New Bedford Institute of Technology in 1962. William served in the United States Marine Corps as a 1st Lieutenant, was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, and a proud member of the VFW, Post 2425. After serving his country, he became known as Mr. Titcomb (Mr. T) and was an elementary school teacher for the Town of Wareham for 37 years. In addition, he coached several sports at the high school level for both the boys and girls teams. Mr. Titcomb was the first coach ever of the Wareham hockey team and the Wareham tennis team. He also coached girls basketball, and girls soccer. Bill was also a local cable television celebrity. His channel 8 television shows included: The Knowledge Bowl, Let's Play Tennis, Let's Play Golf, Wild Bill's Woodworking, and Wild Bill's Wildflower Painting.

In his spare time, Wild Bill enjoyed playing tennis, golf, fishing, sailing, skiing, ice skating, playing hockey, painting, carpentry, eating breakfast with his high school buddies, and riding around in his pickup truck. He was a tennis champion at the Sippican Tennis Club (STC) in Men's Doubles, Men's Singles, and Mixed Doubles. He also ran Sunday Morning Men's Doubles at the STC for approximately 25 years. He was a member of Little Marion Golf Course for almost 4 decades and hit 6 Hole-in-Ones. He caught thousands of fish, and sailed the southwest winds in Buzzards Bay from May to October for 30 years. When the seasons changed, he would primarily transition to hockey. He played on Saturday mornings in Hockey Unlimited, and achieved one of his many goals in life by playing a shift at the age of 80 at the Gallo Ice Arena in Bourne, MA.

William was predeceased by his father Millard, his mother Carolyn, his Aunt Jane and her husband Donald Welch, and his cousins David and Kenny Welch. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Marion, MA), his brother Peter (Supply, NC), sister-in-law Nancy Surpenant (Little Compton, RI) and her husband Gerald, his two sons Timothy (Cary, NC) and his wife Nancy, Joshua (Cambridge, MA) and his wife Cathey, his 5 grandchildren: Anna, Jack, Rory, Axel, and Ellis. He is also survived by four nieces (Sarah, Kim, Julie, and Jessica), and nephew Little Pete. He is also remembered by his cousin David's partner Margo Melnicove of Wayland, MA.

In honor of Wild Bill's wishes, due to his zest for life, there will be no funeral services. Instead, the family will hold a Celebration of Life party in the summer of 2024, where there will be plenty of champagne and cheap beer to drink for all.

Richard R. Langhoff, 88, of Mattapoisett died April 25, 2024 unexpectedly at Tobey Hospital.

He was the husband of Ilona B. (Gorun) Langhoff.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Florence V. (Smiechowski) Krauterbluth, step-son of the late Paul J. Krauterbluth and son of the late Rudolph Langhoff, he lived briefly in Chula Vista, CA and Acushnet before moving to Mattapoisett in 1970.

He was a 1953 graduate of Langley High School in Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh, School of Engineering, class of 1964.

Mr. Langhoff was a Vietnam Era veteran, and trained primarily as a U.S. Air Force pilot through the Aviation Cadet program in class 58-C/D. He held a commercial pilot's license with an instrument rating at the time of his death. He was a very close friend and served in flight crew with the late David E. Frawley, Jr. of Mattapoisett.

He began his work career as a technician at Westinghouse Electric's Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. At Bettis, he worked his way through college, but interrupted his education and joined the U.S. Air Force. Upon graduation with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering, he worked as a metallurgist for a number of companies in Pennsylvania, California, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He retired from Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems, Portsmouth, RI as a Principal Systems Engineer in 2002. He also was a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts. In retirement, he was a licensed school bus driver, and driver for the Mattapoisett Council on Aging.

Mr. Langhoff was a member of (ASM), and later the (ASMINT) at Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

He was an accomplished author of over 800 company proprietary technical reports, seven technical publications, and one U.S. Patent including two disclosures.

He was a former Vice-President, President of the St. Anthony's Church Couple's Club in Mattapoisett, and served as a Lector for 39 years and infrequent Usher since building the "New" St. Anthony's Church in 1974.

He was a Lifetime Volunteer Flight Crew member of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation. Mattapoisett Machacam Club, and an over 35 year member of the American Legion, Florence Eastman Post 280 where he served as Chaplain.

He had an extreme love for sports cars with the owning of a prize winning 1958 Triumph TR3-A roadster.. He loved to exercise and was very active in bicycling until 2024 when his health declined. He had a lifelong passion for amateur astronomy and combined that passion with his interest in photography for the capture of many deep sky astrographs. He was the owner of an eight inch diameter Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at his passing. He also was a passionate football fan, and particularly enjoyed his beloved "Pittsburgh Steelers" and his alma mater "Pitt Panthers."

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Langhoff and his wife Trudy of Maynard, MA; a daughter, Kristen Henriques and her husband Scott of Fairhaven; a step-brother, Joel Langhoff of Lake Jackson, TX; a half-sister, Janet Hitz and her husband John of Graysville, PA; 4 grandchildren, Gretchen, Caleb, Ingrid and Katherine; 4 nieces and nephews, Bradley Langhoff, Robert Langhoff and Kendyl Warren; and Jonathan Hitz and his wife Caroline.

He was the brother of the late Ronnie Langhoff and the step-brother-in-law of the late Elaine Langhoff.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30th at 10 am at St. Joseph's Church, 74 Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Cushing Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. William "Bill" do Carmo, 94, of Marion, formerly of New Bedford died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was the husband of Doris Carmo for many years.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John and Alice (Lopes) Carmo, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.

Bill was a lifelong entrepreneur and community activist. As president of Carmo & Associates, Consultants, Real Estate, and Construction, he worked as the project manager for the construction of the Roosevelt, Normandin, and Keith Middle Schools. From 1984 to 1991 Bill was the Senior Project Representative for over 4,000 units of affordable housing in Massachusetts through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

As president of the New Bedford chapter of the NAACP he was responsible for the construction of the NAACP Community Building. With the assistance of local banks and philanthropists such as Richard Young of Titleist and Jim Ottaway of the Standard-Times, Bill worked to resolve discrimination in employment, education, and housing. Bill was a founder of the former United Front, now Temple Landing; a Trustee and Board Member of the Whaling Museum; an Election Commissioner for the City of New Bedford; a member of the New Bedford Port Society; Housing Chairman for the NAACP; involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Bedford; and Chairman of the New Bedford Regional Airport.

Bill served proudly in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force for six years during the Korean War. During his service he was denied the opportunity to become a military pilot due to segregation in the military. Bill took it upon himself to earn his private pilot's license which he held for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his children, Carla Roderick and husband Wayne of New Bedford, Robyn Carmo of Los Angeles, Andrea Carmo of New Bedford, Victoria Gonsalves of New Bedford, William S. Carmo of New York; his siblings Dolores Spencer of Fairhaven, Catherine Cabral of Dartmouth, and George Carmo of New Bedford; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, his former wives, Vivian Lindo and Beverly do Carmo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings Louis Carmo, Robert Carmo, Charles Carmo, Michael Carmo, John Carmo, and Ethel Fox.

Bill's visitation will be held Thursday, April 25th from 4-8 pm in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St, New Bedford. Burial will take place in Rural Cemetery privately at a later date.

Barbara A. (Kubik) Bowman, 82, of Mattapoisett passed away peacefully on Saturday April 6, 2024 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Wesley N. Bowman.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Moore) Kubik, she spent most of her life in Mattapoisett.

Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Wesley Bowman & Sons, where she was a whiz at numbers and was very well organized. She had also been a bookkeeper for the Mattapoisett Highway Department from 1988-2006 while her husband was the Town Highway Surveyor. It was a job she was proud to undertake.

Known for her great sense of humor and quick wit, she had a soft spot for animals, loved reading history books, and decorating her home for the holidays. She adored her grandchildren and in her earlier years spent a lot of time being the coolest Gram. She cherished her time spent with them and was a very proud grandmother.

The family would like to thank her caregiver, Sarah Mello for the loving care and attention shown to Barbara.

She is survived by her four children, Wesley Bowman, Jr., Nancy Duff, Susan Henshaw and her husband Todd, and Gary Bowman and his wife Kim; ten grandchildren, Mitchell Duff, Wesley Bowman III, Timothy Bowman, Marissa Donovan, Rachael Sweet, Mary-Louise Hansen, T.J. Henshaw, Matthew "Joe" Duff, Mason Henshaw, and John Kubik Bowman; six great-grandchildren, Colin Sweet, Travis Sweet, Chase Bowman, Caleb Bowman, Daisy Louise Donovan, and William George Henshaw; and her sister, Nancy M. Kubik. She also had many special nieces and nephews, including Robert Bessette, Dennis Bessette, and Lisa Cardoza and her daughter Holly Cardoza.

She was predeceased by her brother John Kubik.

Donna McAuley Kelly, age 87, of Weston and Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, died peacefully on April 6, 2024, after a valiant three-year battle with several cancers. She was surrounded by her husband of 65 years, Hugh J. Kelly, and her loving family.

Born on September 4, 1936, and raised in the Bronx by the late Mary (Dolly) Buckley and Harold J. McAuley, Donna was the eldest of eight children, and had the benefit of an Ursuline Education from elementary school through her graduation from The College of New Rochelle in New York. She later attended Boston College working towards her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, which enabled her to pursue her passion for working with children as a Speech and Language Pathologist for the Natick Massachusetts School System.

Donna had a radiant spirit with an insatiable appetite for learning. She was often found investing in the stock market by day and diving into a good book at night. She was a prolific artist who loved nothing more than sculpting in clay and stone or translating a beautiful view to her canvas using oil and watercolor. She enjoyed deep conversations where she shared her vast knowledge and wisdom with others but loved nothing more than enriching the development of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Donna was predeceased by her parents and siblings David McAuley, Paula Hollis, Brenda Victoria, and Laura Samuelson; and survived by her siblings Barbara Kelly, Brian McAuley, and Martha Keller. She is survived by her devoted husband, Hugh J. Kelly, their five children Chris (Shirley), Hugh (Shannon), Brian, Katie Hay (David), Donna Ruhanen (Troy); and 22 grandchildren, Erin Banta, Megan Cochran, Joe, Cat, Clare, and Emma Kelly; Nicho, Aggie, Theo and Temi Kelly; Patrick, Michael, Faith, Julia, Koko and Aedan Kelly; Grace & Keira Hay; Jack, Finn, Elle and Tom Ruhanen. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Jack, Hudson, and Belle Banta; Georgia, James, and Charlie Cochran; and Alice Kelly.

Mary Jane Rimmer-Doherty, 81, of Mattapoisett died March 30, 2024 at Sippican Health Care Center surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of James M. Doherty.

Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late J. Clinton and M. Annita (Rogers) Rimmer, she lived in Mattapoisett most of her life.

Mary Jane graduated from St. Anne's School of Nursing and later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Salve Regina University.

She was formerly employed as an E.M.T. with the Town of Mattapoisett for over 20 years until her retirement.

Mary Jane enjoyed traveling throughout the Caribbean Islands and Europe and spent many winters at her place in Stuart, FL with her husband Jim.

She enjoyed gardening, knitting and making Nantucket baskets.

She was the sister of the late Anne Motta.

Dale Muther Allison, Ph.D. age 81 of Marion, MA formerly of Honolulu, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Newtown Highlands passed away just as she wished in her beloved residence and childhood summer home. She was the widowed wife of W. Anthony Allison, M.D. with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, and was the mother of Patricia Dillard, Vivian Shelton, Anita Allison and her beloved dog Max.

Born in Newton, MA, the daughter of Donald Muther and Florence (Briggs) Muther. Dale and her brother Brahm were raised by her WWII widowed mother in Newton Highlands. She was a graduate of Newton South High School, Boston University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Dale Allison has more than 50 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Professor of Community Health, and Acting Dean. She began her nursing career as a public health nurse in Southeast, Washington, D.C.. Dale continued her work at UPenn teaching women's health and working with predominantly African American pregnant adolescents. After completing a Master of Science in Nursing at UPenn, she taught maternity nursing students at Bryn Mawr Hospital before returning to UPenn to work as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. After finishing her doctorate, Dale moved to Hawaii and was on the faculty at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Dale transitioned to Hawaii Pacific University where she moved up the ranks from professor, to Assistant Dean, to Acting Dean before her retirement in 2013. Dale was most proud of her work with underserved populations on the North Shore of Oahu and the community health centers where she was a director of a program integrating traditional Hawaiian healing practices with Western Medicine, bringing people into healthcare. Teaching, Practice, and Research have been her focus throughout her career to help people to understand their health care issues.

Dale was a loving wife, mother, family member and friend who opened her heart and home to all. As a practicing Quaker, social causes and groups were of particular importance to her. She volunteered as a "spy" for the Fair Housing Counsel, was a Girl Scout Leader, was active in supporting like-minded political candidates, and was instrumental in the 1989 court case US v. Lansdowne Swim Club, integrating the pool. While in Hawaii she explored and challenged herself in new pursuits such as learning to motorcycle, scuba dive, surf, and paddle an outrigger canoe. Dale loved swimming, boating, and porch sitting with loved ones at her home in Marion.

Dale is survived by her three daughters, Patricia M. Dillard and her husband Gregory of Texas; Vivian A. Shelton and her husband Zachary of Virginia; Anita N. Allison of Massachusetts; and, 6 grandchildren, Gregory III, Lydia and Jeramiah Dillard and Jaden, Sophia and Jewel Shelton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 10 am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marion.

Elizabeth "Beth" Anne Schaefer passed away peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA with family by her side, on March 23, 2024, following a long illness. Beth was born on March 24, 1969 to Loretta (Buechling) and Richard P. Schaefer in Bronxville, NY. Soon after her birth, Beth's family relocated to Marion, MA, where Beth lived most of her younger years. Most recently, she split her time between Marion and Hallsberg, Sweden, with her long-time partner, Michael Malmer, and his family. She was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth, MA, and Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. Beth proudly worked as a special education assistant in the Westborough school system for many years. Later she held various roles at Community Nurse of Fairhaven and Family Service Association in Fall River. Beth was a kind, caring and thoughtful person who always wanted to help people. Above all, she was an animal lover who had many rescues over the years and could win over even the most difficult dog.

Beth was predeceased by her mother, Loretta B. Schaefer, and her partner, Michael Malmer, of Hallsberg, Sweden. She is survived by her father, Richard P. Schaefer, of Marion, MA, her sisters Catherine Nellis of Barrington, RI, and Christine Gleason of Dover, MA, along with brothers-in-law, Doug Shattuck (Catherine) and Joshua Gleason (Christine); and her nephews, Eli, Theo, James and Andrew. Per Beth's wishes, her burial will be private.
