Discoteca La Meca, or in other words, ‘Mecca Night Club’, was built recently in Spain, and is a detailed imitation of a Holy Mosque!! Carrying the name of Muslims’ purest land ‘Mecca’..Moreover, the architecture, and exterior design, and the interior of the club, is a mosque with all its details!!
I was shocked, disgusted, and overwhelmed with the way ‘muslims’ keep getting offended and how, sadly, we never respond back.
Discoteca La Meca is a mosque carbon copy that holds nude, topless, foam, lingerie parties, with the entertainment of male and female strippers!!! It’s so sad, what the Holiness and Sanctity of our religion has come to.

I think there’s a representation of beauty & genious in this building. It could be any form of architecture, but spanish designers choosed that mosque because they’re fascinated with the genious of this ancestral building.
Don’t forget that Spain has been occupied by muslims for many years and that the arab influence in architecture & all forms of civilization are remarkable.
Or are you people thinking that in a place where we drink alcohol & dancers are nude it should be surrounded with holiness??
I think that many of you muslims, go to night clubs no matter if it’s a church or Buddhist temple, you only complain when it’s built as a mosque YOU HYPOCRITS !!

An old story of a Muslim leader who was conquering continents once landed in a christian city, and particularly in a church. prayer time comes and the leader with his followers get ready to pray- the priest offers them to pray in the church…..The Muslim leader with gratitude says” If i pray here and long after i die, people will come to this church and flip it into a mosque, and i don’t want this to happen out of respect to Christianity. and he prays out.
This is Islam that you can judge – give me one incident where a Muslim disrespected a church or insulted a church. We admit there’s extremists on both ends .
Christianity forbids adultery , drinking, and disrespecting the church and Jesus, and look at your PEOPLE ignoring these facts and pillars of religion. by religion when you enter a church you have to be covered….go to church now and see what kind of HYPOCRISY is taking place. I yet to see people worship their prophet by mocking him and making fun of him and in-appropriately picturing him.
Until this very day we respect the place we pray in and will always do either we are good or we are bad Muslims , a mosque or a church is a place and a house of God and respecting it is a must.
First, I would like to thank you for your opinion..Everyone is entitled to have one..And this is yours..I’m not sure what is your background or how much you know about Islam..However, since Spain was occupied by Muslims, they should have known the holiness that mosques represent in Islam..And this holiness should have remained untouched..A mosque is a place for worshipers to pray..And even to do that, they have to be clean, neat, take their shoes off, and cover their hair..just to show respect to this sacred place and to God..
And as you mentioned, Spain is a place that knows a lot about Islam and their culture..And they could have chose any other aspect of the Islamic architecture instead of building a club (that looks exactly like a mosque)!
I do not think that you can find any club in an Islamic country that looks like church or a Buddhist temple to the very least detail..Such clubs might exist..but if it does, it’s in Non-Muslim countries, and they were not built by Muslims..If such a thing happen, be sure..you will not sit put.
And if it’s true like you said..That this act came out of ‘fascination with the genious of this ancestral building’ then how do you explain calling the club (Meca)? Don’t you think it’s a kind of mockery and sarcasm? It is..and whoever built it, meant a total disregard and complete offense of the spiritual importance of the place..

The whole idea of having something sacred and using a holy name for such thing is a sacrilege for the place. I understand that spanish designers were fascinated, but couldnt they build another place with an arabesque style that doesnt take the style of a mosque and that doesnt carry the name of Makkah. And yes many muslims go to night clubs that might have been churches or temples but if the ppl of that religion dont act then why would muslims care of the ppl of the faith do not respect their holy sites ?

May be some of the visitors of the ”Meca” discotec will ask more about Mecca and Islam and then they would discover the truth of Islam.
We need not to make story about symbols and not engage into odd discussions.
Unless we change ourselve no one will care about our symbols.
It is a long way to go for changes, but it should start some where but sooner is better.
Education, Democracy, Rule of Law, Freedom, respect of others are key for the changes in moslim world.

Change is required from our side as well as the opposite side. However, this does not mean we compromise our beliefs and we disregards the mockery of our sacred symbols for the sake of change..
Respect and acceptance is the first step for a better future..if it’s a meant change, everybody would notice it and react to it…
I think is disgraseful that the spanish authorites have let a club like this be built not considering the 1.5 million muslims in the country and the muslims around the world.
The problem is that Muslims do not want to accept our democratic system in which we have the right to express our ideas, to name a disco La Meca is not a problem, there are lots of places in Spain called like this and nobody has complained about it yet. They also complain about everything because they consider our system as evil, if they do not like this, why on earth do they live here?

The same goes here, drinking is prohibited in Islam, and ladies there are semi-naked and guys are almost all drunk … why does that have to happen inside a building that 1) looks like a mosque, and 2) has the name of Muslim pligrimage city and is considered to be an extremely holly place?

You see churches and mosques are built in special designs to be distinguished and for the purpose to worship God and seek forgiveness and surly not for the purpose of challenging God and insulting his religion. You see one should know that God is not to be fought. Instead of thanking him for all what he has given us; eyes, ears, hearts, food, health you name it we sadly chose to show disrespect and challenge his very existence and forget that he is our creator.
Please kindly open your mind be respectful and tolerant.
I would like to share with you how God glory be to him described his light and that he guides to his light whoever he wants and that he gave his permission to have places of worship to be built for the purpose of worship. Please kindly read bellow the translation of God’s words in the Quran chapter (24) Al Nur verses 35-40:
“(24/35). Allâh is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp: the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allâh guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allâh sets forth parables for mankind, and Allâh is All-Knower of everything.
(24/36). In houses (mosques) which Allâh has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is remembered [i.e. prayers, invocations, recitation of the Qur’ân etc.]. Therein glorify Him (Allah) in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings.
(24/ 37). Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the Remembrance of Allâh (with heart and tongue), nor from performing As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), nor from giving the Zakât (charity). They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection).
(24/38). That Allâh may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace. And Allâh provides without measure to whom He wills.
(24/39). As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one thinks it to be water, until he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing; but he finds Allâh with him, Who will pay him his due (Hell). And Allâh is Swift in taking account.
(24/40). Or [the state of a disbeliever] is like the darkness in a vast deep sea, overwhelmed with waves topped by waves, topped by dark clouds, (layers of) darkness upon darkness: if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it! And he for whom Allâh has not appointed light, for him there is no light. ”
Interesting to say that this very last verse verse 40 it is miraculously describes 14 centuries ago two scientific phenomena the first how lights disappears when it travels deep down in the sea and the second the very existence of unseen waves in the middle of the sea deep down bellow the waves on the surface. Really such phenomena could not have been described by anyone on earth at the time providing the illiterate prophet did not have the chance to go to the sea during his life time. this knowledge is only this century knowledge and only came to prophet Mohammad 1400 years ago from a divine source of knowledge.
May God light reaches the hearts of those who built and visited this nightclub and make them glorify God and pray to him in it instead of disobeying him drinking alcohol and committing misdeeds.

I think it’s unfair to say Christians or Jews wouldn’t care if there was a club made and named to look like their holy temples/places of prayer or worship. I’m sure they would be as outraged as the Muslim population.
This makes me sad because it shows such intolerance and disrespect towards fellow human beings and children of Allah. Everyones outrage on here saying that the club deserves to be bombed also shows that intolerance and disrespect for human life and peace. How can we as Muslims demand respect when the angry minority cannot properly relay their feelings without threats and hostility?
Has anyone contacted the club owner? Has anyone tried to negotiate a change in the name at the very least? I’m sure no one commenting or forwarding this as a bbm broadcast has even attempted to fix this properly.

Ok, so here’s my opinion.
First of all, I can understand people getting shocked about building a discotheque named Meca and looking like a mosque. It’s not very tactful from the owners, even though my personal opinion is that it’s not fundamentally wrong to do so (you are of course entitled to disagree with me).
What I regret the most in this matter is not the fact that they did what they did, or that people criticized the discotheque, it’s the extremes that people get to. To go as far as to threaten of a war against spain is just too much. And despite what some of you say, i’ve heard many, many more threats of war from muslim extremists than from anyone else. It seems everytime something doesn’t please the muslim community there are threats of war (I still remember the uproar about the Mahomed caricatures).
Why not just do as most people in spain would : make an official complaint, a petition, contact the owners to explain to them why you disapprove of the discotheque. And if they don’t accept to discuss about it, then they’re just jerks. And if in the end nothing can be done about it (apart from making all this uproar), then it’s very unfortunate, but stuff happens to everyone. At least everything will have been done smoothly and calmly and people won’t be tempted to stigmatise their relations with muslim people and critisize them like they do because of a bad image.
There is no need for threat, only discussion. If everyone can talk calmaly, we’ll all be able to understand each other’s reasons and circumstance and a compromise can be reached much, much more easily. Just my 2 cent…

It is a pity that most Jews and Christians have intermingled the European , western culture with Judaism and Christianity thus they forgot all about the principles of their religions ,,, then they reflected this to Muslims ,,, the Old Testament , the Bible and the Qur’an all share almost the same doctrines and they all call for virtues ,,all these three divine books women are advised to cover their heads ,,,dress properly ,,cover their bodies ,,,,, people should be pious and virtuous ,,,However , due to the desires and lust of the west and with the progress in life ,, people started to liberate themselves from religion and gradually they left,these principles … by the new revolutionary trends of Islam in the last 50 years women started covering their bodies and heads by going back to the instructions of the Qur’an ,,,they then started knowing Islam and becoming aware of its principles – moderate not extremists- as for the other religions ,,,they are going astray day by day ,,,they have gone far away from Judaism and Christianity …thus they made their life full of worldly pleasures forgetting the principles and doctrines of their religions ,,,hence the extreme Muslim movements such as the salafi and wahabis find their way where there was a great emptiness so they stained and misinterpret the Ho;y Qur’an and Bin Laden ,,,AlQaida and all other fanatics find their way to emerge so they distorted Islam ,,,,By doing so the west represented by Judaism and Christianity – here I am writing about religions not politics – the west has great diverse reaction against Islam so they started first by mocking prophet Mohammed and then writing bad things about Islam ,,, burning the Holy Qur’an ,,,forming anti- Islam societies ,,,and – as a moderate Muslim- DO NOT BLAME them ,,,BECAUSE slaughtering ,,, killing ,,violence and all these bad crimes have been committed in the name of Jihad ie Islam …THOUGH it has nothing to do with Islam at all ,,,therefore this discotea is nothing but a reaction ,,,YES it is terrible ,,yes it is outrageous ,,it is unacceptable ,,,BUT how can we convince these people to do the right thing ?
The answer is simple : Show them the real peaceful loving Islam which never calls for slaughtering others ,,,killing innocent people is NEVER part of Islam’s principles

( He who kills one person is considered as if he has killed all people )
Islam is a religion of love , peace , forgiveness , help , kindness, serenity , generosity …..

Islam is more than you think it is, in fact more liberal than most would wish it to be. But do not only listen. Study all views for yourself…and come to your own conclusion. God says “let there be no compulsion in religion” because faith in God is a choice made by the heart, and it can’t be forced.
