NEW ORLEANS--The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently released its preseason regional rankings for the 2011 NCAA Division II season and the men of Morehouse College and along with the women of Clark Atlanta University were ranked in the South Region.
The Maroon Tigers were rank ninth in the South Region men’s rankings while the Lady Panthers were ranked tenth in the South Region women’s rankings.
Morehouse finished 11th in the 2010 regional standings and look to capture their 16th SIAC cross country title in the last 17 years this season. After finishing second at the 2010 conference championship, Clark Atlanta women, who finished 13th in the 2010 regional standings, look to return to their 2009 form when they captured the SIAC conference title.
Both Morehouse and Clark Atlanta will open the season September 3rd with the Maroon Tigers participating in the Memphis Twilight in Memphis, TN while the Lady Panthers will take part in the UGA Cross Country Invitational in Athens, GA.
