About Sardinia

" In Sardinia, where I live, I can see the horizon every day. You realize that you are becoming smaller against it but you do not perceive this as an imperfection. Your are feeling as being part of an indefinable dimension in which everything flows in. ยป (Goetz George)"

Sardinia is the second largest Mediterranean island. About 1.7 mil people live on the island which is -- together with South Tyrol -- one of Italy?s two autonomous regions.

Sardinia is a "green" island: The nature is intact, there is clean water, fresh air, good food and beverages from local production and a very special light. In Sardinia, the average number of people reaching
an age of more than 100 years is higher than in other Western countries.

Sardinians are different. Sometimes they appear cautious and less communicative. But at their heart they are very cordially and hospitable, but also straight and proud. Proud of their tradition, their values, and their country.
Sardinia?s scenery is so manifold as if the island were a small continent: fantastic beaches and coves, impressive cliffy coasts, a wild and romantic countryside with fields, macchia vegetation and cork trees,
vibrant places at the sea and picturesque villages in the mountains. There could not be a larger contrast between the luxury of the Costa Smeralda and the simplicity of an old farmhouse (stazzu). But everywhere
you get the feeling of wideness and freedom.

Sardinia has more to offer than sandy beaches and a blue sea. Discover
