The following highlight experiences in Information Technology
Identified that $40,000 was spent every 5 years to upgrade/replace aging servers.  Virtualized all corporate servers as well as reducing physical hardware, improving system performance by increasing ease of maintenance.  Result: Saved $75,000 over 10 years in server replacement costs.

Improved Customer Service response time.  Internal system users (customers) complained of lack of responsiveness of the IT Department with solutions taking up to three weeks.  Implemented a customer service work order tracking system to prioritize technical issues.  Results: Customers received a response to their requests within minutes and problems typically resolved within hours.

Researched and Installed a Contract Management System. The company had no electronic means of keeping track of the life-cycle of its active contracts and thus had no way of quantifying financial or other contractual liabilities.  Reviewed numerous packages and found the best-cost, best-fit solution.  Result: The company was able to quantify contractual liabilities totaling more than $25,000.

Analyzed company’s telecommunications; discovered long distance overcharges and an inefficient call center system.  Switched long distance carrier, purchased and installed new cable and programmed improved call center.  Results: Reduced long distance charges by $100,000 over 10 years; improved call center response time by 80%.

Upgraded the company’s telecommunications network.  Internet connection was slow, causing search bottlenecks.  Negotiated a new plan, doubling the connection speed and updated the long distance plan to improve cost-per-minute fees.  Results: Decreased long distance charges by 20% for a net yearly savings of $15,000 while improving connectivity.

Created an unmanned water distribution system for a local water trucking company.  Adapted an existing gasoline-oriented technology to install and set up a water-pumping station using pre-paid key cards.  Results: Increased operations from a manned 8am to 5pm service to an unmanned 24/7 system and increased profits by 60%.

Redesigned company’s network.  Analyzed operation and found multiple data storage failure points and potential Intellectual Property loss.  Removed access to local computer hard drives, moved data to networked data storage system. Result: Reduced data duplication by almost 600%; improved productivity.

Created Internet-based Project Tracking System.  U.S. based management and sales staff needed to track the progress of their manufacturing facility in China.  Developed on-line tracking.  Result: Reduced long distance charges by 50%.

Developed an Inventory Tracking System.  Following a year-end inventory discovered over one-third of the existing capital assets were not listed.  Purchased and integrated a barcode scanner, inventoried all assets and generated auditing reports.  Result: Discovered previously untracked assets totaling nearly $110,000.

Implemented training program for the world’s largest fish farm project near Alexandria, Egypt. Following initial classroom training in Port Said, Egypt, traveled with the group to Taiwan and supervised their training in aquaculture techniques.  Result: Completed the program on time and on budget as part of the overall $36 million project.

Set up information technology infrastructure for new 40,000 ft2 manufacturing facility of a company expanding its manufacturing capacity.  Defined specifications needed for purchasing PCs, servers, network hardware and cabling; prepared a budgetary proposal for the entire project and then ordering and installing all equipment.  Results: Reduced setup time by 21 days utilizing single-source supplier and saved the company $30,000.

Coordinated major utility company’s “Year 2000” readiness plan.  Lead systems analyst coordinating efforts ensuring 600+ computer systems and numerous critical software packages would not be affected.  Result: Achieved 0% failure rate for over 60 applications throughout all computer systems.
