Brainerd Lakes Chamber – Bridges Workplace Connection: Central Lakes College Presidents’ Community Partner Award Recipient

Brainerd Lakes Chamber - Bridges Workplace Connection

The Brainerd Lakes Chamber Workplace Connection and their partnership with Central Lakes College is truly an example of a “best practice” in collaboration. On March 11, 2011, a Bridges Career Exploration Day was held on the CLC Brainerd campus. Mary Gottsch, director of the Workplace Connection was responsible for management of this event. She coordinated participation of more than 183 Businesses, Industries, CLC technical programs and Liberal Arts & Sciences disciplines, MSTATE-Wadena technical programs, many non-profits, DEED, and many others. Working with a CLC team, Mary’s leadership was key to the event’s success. 2,364 students from 24 school districts attended. Over 50 VIPs attended. Over 100+ faculty and students, CLC clubs and organizations participated.  CLC students and faculty, and industry partners engaged high school students in hands-on learning activities organized by career clusters. The event is well known across the state and has received much recognition. Brainerd Lakes Chamber Workplace Connection is very deserving of the President’s Community Partner Award!
