Ian Paice was giving a master class in Feb’09 here. And among numerous questions he was asked about your plans in terms of visiting Moscow. Ian said you had many plans and you always knew the scale of love of Russian fans to Deep Purple and to you personally.

Yes, Jon Lord is coming to Falkenberg on July 11 with Robert Wells’ Rhapsody in Rock. 🙂

  13. Lichfield Concert.

Does anyone know what the set might comprise of. I am assuming that if it’s just a string quartet we’re NOT getting the concerto. I’m bringing the memshaib you see and i’m trying to get her to familiarise herself with likely tracks.

    Any ideas.

    Cheers
    Dave

  18. Thank you for just being on the Earth at all, and а special, enourmous THANK YOU!!! for the concert in Moscow that`s coming up real soon.

I believe that all russian fans are ready to pay just any sum of money to hear you playing, but let me say that official tickets seller (www.concert.ru (exact link: http://www.concert.ru/Order.aspx?ActionID=11600)) is selling tickets for a much higher price than 25-50 Euros mentioned in the press release. To be precise – for 5000 rubles and more – that’s well above 100 Euros )).

I hope that this information can help you and your team to control your profit from the show. Still, i`ve bought the tickets anyway, and can`t wait to hear you!!!
Come on, we`ra all waiting )))

With greatest respect from me and all russian fans,
    Sergey K.

  19. Very nice posters for two Russian shows, but still no tickets available for 12.10 (St.Petersburg) and people at the hall where Jon is to perform seem to know nothing about the upcoming concert 😦

  20. I hope Jon performs in Canada too. Casino Rama concerthall would be a great venue for Mr. Lord to play and its only a half hour from my city.I first saw Jon play in July 1981 for Whitesnake,in Buffalo N.Y., and i been a big fan ever since.

  21. Mr. John

What must be happened, that the most biggest old and new army of your and purple fans from all former USSR can meet you at last HERE IN UKRAINE?!!! It’s too sad for us here in Ukraine, that you have a solid tour in Russia, but wishful Ukraine still remains by side. You are always WELCOME here in UKRAINE. Sincerely, Volodymyr(WALTER)

  26. Please Jon , come in Italy! Please, please, please!!! I hope a least to see you in January in Potsdam.

  27. Dear Mr. LORD !

Without stong, powerful Lords’s organ – Deep Purple is not Deep Purple.
This is simply “Rainbow”, or simply “Blakmors night”, or simply Richies Band for a richie.
Richie always love only his gutar and hear only himself play)))

I love Richie guitars and his solo.
But power of rock-music of 70′- ROCK ORGAN !!!!

    Please – play LOUDER !!!!
    Play longer !
    Thank you!
    Your musick is a paradise.

    The best regards 🙂 )))

I reviewed the concert on my blog, calling it Jon Lord, soldier of fortune or child in time ? http://aldmovieland.blogspot.com/2009/11/jon-lord-soldier-of-fortune-sau-child.html
Now i listen to the 1999 philarmonic recording and I took out my 1969 dvd of the original performance ! If only i had the good sense of bringin thenm with me for an autograph ! But cant win em all ! Will do with the good memories, pictured within !!!

  32. IM JUST A SIMPLIE MAN AND IM JUST WANDERING FROM WHAT MATERIALS FROM THE UNIVERSE ARE MADE HUMAN BEIINGS LIKE MISTER JON LORD AND SOME OTHERS AS FEW AS IN JUST FINGERS IN ONE PALM.WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE GREATNESS OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT FINDS ITS TRUE MEANING WITHIN MISTER JON LORD WHO IS BEYOND THE MATERIAL WORLD AND STANDS ON HIS OWN UNIVERSE WICH HE ALONE CREATED.I BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DISCRIBE THE GREATNESS OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT. I FIND MY SELF SPEACHLESS TO DESCRIBE THE GREATNESS I FILL WHEN IM LISCENING YOUR MUSIC FOR MANY YEARS UNTIL NOW .
ONE SMALL AND NON IMPORTANT FUN OF YOURS.

  37. Hello Jon – I’ve just seen that you are on in Liverpool shortly and that you combine pop and classical music. I’m interested in booking a ticket but I need to ask a question first. This may seem like a silly question to you but it is of great concern to me. Will all the acoustic instruments in both pop and classical groups receive exactly the same amplification?

I’m not concerned about the electric instruments, they are internally amplified and have volume controls so can easily fit in, but I am concerned that all acoustic instruments receive exactly the same treatment i.e. all either amplified or all not amplified. As far as I am concerned I see no reason whatsoever why pop instruments should be amplified above classical. Why should the listener be expected to hear say, a violin, amplified just because it happens to be part of a folk group rather than an orchestra. Acoustic guitars are near enough the same sound and volume as harps, so I would expect in your concert to hear the harps in the orchestra just as clearly as the acoustic guitars in the band (depending on position on stage).

When mixing both musical genres I think it is vital that equal treatment should be given, unless a special effect is wanted, but in general I think the natural volume balance should be maintained to get the most out of both musical genres.

    Regards
    Richard

  38. Mr. Lord,

Why only one concert in Ukraine? Kharkov is also very big city and Russia is very closed to us as well…

    Best wishes!

  39. Dear Mr Lord,

I am a Flautist and I would love to play the flute piece from To Notice Such Things – As I walked out one evening. I heard it this evening on Classic FM and would love to play it. Where can I get the music? My husband loved Deep P and is just so pleased that musicians and composers keep on writing and playing and enjoying. I would love to play this for him.

    Love lydia

  40. great gig in imst, austria, sir! i was so happy to see the concerto live. i saw you two times with deep purple and one times with whitesnake, but never solo so far. great concert, great music, great musicians and you in front of that all. thank you very much!

  41. I saw Lordy in 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

    Still cherish that occassion.

    But……

Looking at the forthcoming dates I become a bit sad.

Different formats of gigs I d LOVE to attend but quite far away.

Is there no possibility this can be arranged more close to Holland or Belgium, perhaps?

    Mark

  46. Dear Mr. Lord,
Do you rember us? We meet you on at the baggage claim on the airport München and talk to you: “We see you tonight?” You answer: “No, tomorow on Sunday.” We had a mistake in our head. Okay. The Sunday evening was wonderful, I know your music since 40 years, and my eyes was full of tears. Super.
All musicans, Kaskia, Steve, the Band Demon’s Eye and your wonderful performance on piano and last but least your B3 was great. And you on this evening was very nice and sympatical.
(You excuse my English, long time ago on school)
    Best wishes
    Angelika and Georg

  47. Dear Mr Lord,
Having ben a dedicated fan of DP and yourself since “HUSH” hit the airwaves and was fortunate enough to have seen you and DP twice in Toronto, first at the Government House not long after Steve Morse joined the band, then at the Molson Amphitheater, Ontario Place a couple of years later. I would love to see you perform again possibly with the Toronto or Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. You do have an incredible following here in Canada!
