Gérard Depardieu bashes the Stones AGAIN

Amusing

To French Iorrans - please do to translate, spare the suspense confused smiley

Gerard Depardieu is not his first attempt. After Juliet Binoche, he rebuked Madonna and the Rolling Stones.
Gerard Depardieu, Juliette Binoche who is critical, it was a great advertisement, but a little too French. Never mind, the monster of French cinema (he has more than 200 films to his name) decided to play the international card to do more buzzer.

Because our national Gege is happening now with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra where he plays Lelio, a work of Hector Berlioz. "Standing on stage, the actor, accompanied by the orchestra and recites the original French, subtitled in English. (...) A benefit widely hailed by critics, "according to AFP. This is none other than Ricardo Muti, the "great, great friend" Depardieu, the music director of the Chicago Symphony who handled the musical part of the work.

"When you do an opera with Muti, it has nothing to do with a Madonna concert (...), or how old these are called? The Rolling Stones. That is, it has nothing to do, it's not money, not showbiz, everyone makes a living as best he can, "he told AFP.
If he needed a little publicity stunt, "that certainly will relaunch his career in the United States.

Sounds like justified criticism towards the Las Vegas Era Stones. No need to be Einstein - and even lesser if one has artistic ambitions - to see the nature of the game.

Mr. Depardieu is nothing but an old fart himself.

Actually Mr. Depardieu's career is beyond salvage. He's so NOT in demand, he even accepted a part in an awful Norwegian film, "I an not Dina". Simply horrible. I can think of one thing more horrible than that movie; Depardieu's nose. Was his dad a plough or something?

He just said that playing in a Muti opera has nothing in common with a concert of Madonna, or a concert of the Stones.

It looks like some here will die from a heart-attack...

Yeah, funny reactions here.

I think only part where one can feel bit insulted is that he sounds like not recalling their name: "what these old guys are called?" - The Rolling Stones. That's it..."

For the rest he is just stating the obvious (show business & money: "the biggest ever grossing tour, etc" - ever heard?). No no - we believe "you can have the money, pal" -bullshit if our God says so.

Funny how the truth hurts when comes from outside the 'own family', the fan base that is. (Nothing to do with how we rate Depardieu's career as an actor or whether we like his nose or not.)

+1

"Working on an opera with Muti is nothing like a Madonna concert, or -- what are those old guys called -- the Rolling Stones. It's not about the money, it's not show business," Depardieu added.

"Old guys" ?
Depardieu was born in 1948 if I am not mistaken .Jagger looks a thousand time better than he does .

Mr Depardieu is a great actor.I always liked him.
As far as the Stones after 1976 (musically spoken) are concerned, I agree with him:

"When you do an opera with Muti, it has nothing to do with a Madonna concert (...), or how old these are called? The Rolling Stones. That is, it has nothing to do, it's not money, not showbiz, everyone makes a living as best he can, "he told AFP.

Maybe you should read this once more, and the link below before you bash him:

He was never on dope messing up in front of 10000000 of people paying for a ticket.
He was on is post,(well payed ok.).,and clean.
A great craftsmean. BTW:Nobody is perfect in making statements. Neither the Stones nor Depardieu.

Cheers.

Believe me,Amsterdamned ,I never judge someone on his look .
Athough I guess that some must judge me on my look .
But I found funny that he called them "old" since himself is only some years younger.
Anf I have the right to say that to me,Jagger looks a thousand time better than Depardieu .

This will add absolutely zero value to this conversation, but it brings up a happy memory. When I was in school in Paris - one day I decided that if I had a kid, I was going to name it Gerarddepardieu. All one word, as the kid's first name whether it be a girl or boy. Not sure why. But it always used to make us laugh.

"Oh look at that little dress, wouldn't little Gerardepardieu look so cute in it?!" hehehe

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

For me he's just saying, in a very pretentious way, that nor Stones
or Madonna are at the same level as the opera. What a jerk.

How can this guy land a woman like Carole Bouquet is beyond me.

As we say here: c'est l'hôpital qui se fout de la charité !
How can this man, who is totally unable to move as Mick (who is however a little oldest than him), call him a "old man"?

Anyways, GD becomes senile, he also insulted the millions of people protesting in the streets against the pension reform, forgetting to tell the difference between the work of an actor and workers who work hard...
