Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to some of the questions that we are frequently asked. If you don’t see your question below, please submit your question through our contact us page.

  • How do I use Emergency Dental Service?

Call our 24/7 live operators or use our online Emergency Dental Location Finder, in order to schedule an appointment with an emergency dentist in your area. Our dentist are willing to take appointments within 24 hours to get you out of pain quickly.

  • How much does it cost to use EDS? ($25 emergency appointment fee)

Emergency Dental Service charges a $25 appointment fee that will act as a place holder for your requested appointment date & time. This fee will guarantee your appointment within 24 hours (even if it needs to be rescheduled due to the dental offices non-emergency scheduled patients). The $25 fee also acts as a no-show fee in all cases where the patient cancels the appointment. EDS directly partners with local dental offices that commit to seeing our referred patients within 24 hours as “walk-in” patients and block off time slots in order to make this arrangement. For this reason and to help support our 24/7 patient care team, the $25 emergency fee is non-refundable.

  • What kind of treatment will I receive from Emergency Dental Service?

Our Emergency Dentists will provide an initial diagnosis on your condition and administer the appropriate palliative and other treatments to get you stabilized and out of pain.

  • What should I do after my visit?

After your visit to one of our providers, you will need to follow up with your regular dental provider. If you don’t have a regular dentist, you may be able to schedule a follow-up appointment with your Emergency Dental Service provider.

  • What happens if my regular dentist request information?

Our dental partners will provide all of the documentation needed to transfer to your regular dental provider. Just contact the office of the dentist directly or you can contact our support team and we will lead you in the right direction.

  • How do I pay for my services at the dental office?

Payment for any emergency treatment with the dentist or follow-up treatment is due at the time that services are rendered. Most offices accept PPO insurance plans that are provided via an employer (can be your spouse or parent/guardian’s coverage) but will still require some out of pocket cost based on the nature of your emergency. Acceptable payment methods include: credit/debit cards, Care Credit, Cash/Check, Discount dental plans such as Careington 500, and EDS-Financing.
