The A.R.M.S. mount is a really nice mount with a sturdy “throw lever” action quick release system. When used on a flat top AR15 or M4/M16, the spacer is a bar that goes between the actual bottom piece of the mount and the ring/throw lever part of the mount to raise it up a small amount.  (Or you can use a GG&G FIRE rail or an A.R.M.S. rail on your flat top instead). The following pictures show the A.R.M.S. Throw Lever Ring mount both by itself, and with an Aimpoint Comp M2 sight installed, both mounted and unmounted on a rifle.  The demo rifle is an AR15 called the “Ultimate Handy Rifle” and the A.R.M.S. mount is installed on a GG&G FIRE rail instead of with a spacer.
