Papers by Dick Lyon (Richard F. Lyon)

These are some papers by Dick Lyon and some with co-authors. These papers represent work done mostly at Apple Computer, and are included here in the AnaProse Archives because Dick is a visiting associate in Carver Mead's Physics of Computation group at Caltech, and some of the papers are specifically related to work done in collaboration with that group.

Don't confuse me with Richard H. Lyon of MIT & past president of the ASA, no relation, but in a related field.

Most of the postscript papers should print on any postscript level 2 printer. If you need a level-1 compatible version, let me know at dicklyon@acm.org

  • Auditory Model Papers. See also Malcolm Slaney's papers, Dick Duda's papers, and others.

  • Auditory Chip Papers--Beyond Cochleas. See also areas of Lloyd Watts, Rahul Sarpeshkar, and John Lazzaro for related work, or the whole Caltech Physcomp Gang. Lazzaro also has a (compressed postscript) bibliography of related work.

  • Here's a cool discussion of my old Optical Mouse work in a nice Australian Hypertext article on vision chips.
