Rita F. (Metivier) Beauchesne, age 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Marcel J. Beauchesne who died in January, 2003.
She was born in Lowell on December 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Emile and Alma (Duchesne) Metivier. Rita was a longtime resident of Tyngsboro and a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Parish.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a tax accountant with David L'Hussier Tax Services for many years.
Rita was a member and treasurer of the Tyngsboro Senior Citizens and enjoyed making crafts, knitting and macrame.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise and Brian Benoit and Louise A. Marion, all of Tyngsboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald M. and Louise Beauchesne of Chelmsford and David F. Beauchesne and Karen O'Neil of Dracut; a sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and Robert Short of Middleboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Patricia Metivier of Chelmsford; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Rita Beauchesne of New York; six grandchildren, Gary Dean of Montana and Troy Dean of Pennsylvania, Eric Beauchesne and his wife Chris, Kara Rice and her husband Dan, Amy Molloy and her husband Peter, all of Chelmsford, and Chrissy Demers and her husband Joey of Litchfield, NH; seven great grandchildren, Garrett Dean, Mikayla Dean, Megan Demers, Jack Beauchesne, Mia Beauchesne, Abby Rice and Audrey Rice; also many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Roland and Lucien Metivier, Dolores Warner and Gloria Schultz.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Friday, Dec. 21 from 4 to 7pm. Funeral Saturday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Dracut. Interment in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery.
