Manning says he'll be a Colt his entire career, won't play for another team

ANDERSON, Ind. – Quarterback Peyton Manning addressed the media for the first time since signing his five-year, $90 million contract. Two of his comments undoubtedly resonated loudest.

The first had to do with his contract, the second with his health.

“I can’t tell you what an honor it is to go start-to-finish with the same organization in Indianapolis,’’ Manning said this afternoon at Anderson University. “That’s something I always wanted to do as a rookie coming out.

“After (signing the contract), it is official I will be an Indianapolis Colt for my entire career. I won’t play for another team. My last down offootball will be with the Colts. That means a great deal to me.’’

I mentioned this last night as part of the reason why Irsay insisted on a fair deal for Manning to at least match Brady's deal. This sort of loyalty is all too rare in today's professional sports.

he also said he was going to help bring a championship to the city

cocky, yet humble - good qualities to have in the face of your franchise. people who call him selfish & greedy are just ignorant to what sort of person he is
