The Case Of The Stolen Wallet (part 5)

The bell rang then and they all had to go in for classes. Ben walked with Greg.

"How do you like it so far?" he asked. "Pretty neat, eh?"

"It's all right," said Greg. "Think we'll get the crook?"

"Sure," said Ben. "The Kids from B.A.D. always get their man. See you after school."

He was wrong about that though. It was only half an hour later when he bumped into Greg in the washroom. Ben was washing his hands at the sink when Greg came in through the door.

Greg seemed surprised to see him. "What are you doing down here?" he asked.

"We were having Art and I spilled the paint," said Ben. "My mom's going to kill me. Hey, have you seen our badges yet?"

Greg shook his head so Ben opened his shirt and showed him.

"Say, that's all right," said Greg. "It looks real."

"It is real," Ben told him. "It's an official detective badge. You can make arrests with it and everything. You'll get one too if you catch this crook we're after."

Greg went into the corner stall. Ben dried his hands and leaned against the sink to wait for him.

After a few minutes he heard banging noises coming from inside the stall.

"What are you doing in there?" he called to Greg.

"You still out there?" Greg called back. "It's just this paper dispenser. It's all jammed up and I can't get any paper out."

"Hold on, I'll bring you some," said Ben.

"Hey, that's okay," replied Greg. "There's an extra package on top of the toilet." A few moments later he emerged from the corner stall and he and Ben walked back up to their classes together.
