Guitar Guys From Hell - Arthur Neilson, Mark Bosch, David Santos, Dan Hickey

At Christmastime in 1984, I got called to do gigs with Benny Mardones.  The other guitar player was Mark Bosch.  At that moment, the essence of "Guitar Guys from Hell" was born.  In the hotel room that we shared together, Mark and I would jam until all hours into the night.

When an opportunity for a gig at the Red Lion in New York arose, Mark suggested we do it.  I asked, "What are we going to play?".  Mark said, "The same thing we play in our hotel room!"

Mark Bosch, Dan Hickey, and Arthur Neilson at The Red Lion NYCWhen we weren't on the road, we played every Tuesday night at the Red Lion.  Friends would sit in.  When Dan Hickey, who also played with Benny Mardones, was in town, he would play his snare drum (or whatever else was handy) .  We affectionately called him "Snare Boy".  It grew into a four piece band with Dan on drums.  The bass player varied.  The stellar cast of bass players included: David Santos, Tim Tindall, Paul Ossola and John K.
