Oh to be in Capri…especially right now. From July 3rd to August 20th 2011 – Jackie’s Capri: Images of an Icon will be on exhibit at Hotel Quisisana, Capri. Presented by Tod’s and La Conchiglia, this exhibition is a selection of the photographs taken by Settimio Garritano during Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s frequent visits to Capri from 1969 through 1972.

The photos capture moments of Jackie’s habitual pastimes on the island: frequenting shops, cafés and restaurants, with her husband Aristotle Onassis and children John and Caroline Kennedy, walking with various friends and visits to Capri’s historic sites.

Oh, to be in Capri! And, what an icon. Strong beautiful smart Jackie O! In my design office, I have this large 6×8 framed print that reads, “What would Jackie Do”? I live by that saying in life and in my work. It makes me feel confident and strong in all my decisions .

There are many things that inspired me to be a designer, and lush photographs of the jet-set 60′s and 70′s glitterati has to be near the top of the list. I’ve been inspired by Jackie O for as long as I can remember, and your post is a delicious little tidbit to get my creative juices flowing this morning!

Thank you, as always, for the gems you bring your readers.
