    African Leopards: Habitat

African leopards can be widely seen throughout Sub-Sahara Africa particularly in the mountainous forests of Central Africa, the grasslands, and even the savannahs with the exception of the extreme sandy deserts. However, they would prefer the undisturbed rainforest where they can freely hunt their prey and escape from humans. In the summer heat, they can be spotted in caves or draped over a branch of a tree.

These leopards prefer to live in solitude, and it is very unlikely that you would spot leopards in groups. They are very difficult to spot and even one leopard sighting is good! The best chance of spotting leopards is when they are on the hunt, at night, early evening, or early morning.
