3D stereoscopic and Nvidia 3D vision trooble

    Hello

I have the Nvidia 3d vision and want to try AO in 3d stereoscopic but it fail. ( crash at run with bug repport sending )

all is good in "3d vision discover" with cyan/red glasses ( and the 3d effects are very good )
but not in "3d vision" with stereoscopic glasses.

I got a 9800GT and Samsung 120hz sceen give in Nvidia bundle.

Does anyone of you got this 3D kit and run AO in full 3 stereo ?

as AO dont use Direct-X for any grafic im sure it will never work, you will have to wait for the engine upgrade, as that will be full directx 9.

The 3D vision only works with games that actually have built-in support for it (DX10?), AO doesn't.

3d vision don't need game build for it, it work with my old <2000 games. that's the point of this glasses.

3d vision discovery work with AO.

AO may not need to be built "for" the Nvidia 3D Vision, but it most likely does need to be built "for" Directx video rendering. Since AO currently uses Directx7, it does not "render video" using Directx. As a result, the game crashes.

Your other games, even though very old, may support DX8+ and therefore can run with the 3D Vision. AO is playing catch up.

Wait until the new engine comes out and then you'll probably get to use the glasses...or keep researching and maybe you'll find a way to get the current AO running in 3D vision.

Here is an article from Experts Exchange that agrees that games running DX7 won't work with 3D vision (pay attention to NEED #8):
