On the spectacular shores of the massive lake Victoria is Entebbe town a gateway into Uganda. the Entebbe International Airport is the only international airport that serves all outbound &  inbound travels into and out of Kampala. With just a few flights in the past years, Entebbe International Airport has now grown to be an important focal point in East Africa handling regular flights to various destinations in the world.
The biggest route Entebbe handles is the Entebbe-Nairobi route and today it is being served by three airlines with Kenya Airways dominating the route. Additionally, Air Uganda a Ugandan carrier runs three flights a day on the same Entebbe-Nairobi route using their 50-seater CRJ planes for week-day flights, and the 99 seater MD87 plane that carries larger volumes operates over the weekends. The 3rd operator at Entebbe airport is the Fly540 a low cost Kenyan operator that runs two flights daily between Entebbe and Nairobi using a 50-seater CRJ plane.

Flights running from Entebbe to within Europe are majorly served frequent flights to London, Amsterdam and Brussels. It is via these major hubs that flights from Entebbe can link with European and other European countries. British Airlines continuously offers five flights in a week between Entebbe and London Heathrow. The royal Dutch airlines KLM operates four flights in a week connecting Entebbe and Amsterdam and thereafter links to numerous Scandinavian countries like Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Sabena’s successor Brussels Airline serves four flights weekly connecting Entebbe and Brussels and linking to other parts of Europe.
The Middle East and Dubai are prime regions for Uganda’s trading sector and are unfailingly served by Fly Emirates running daily flights from Entebbe into Dubai and then links to other international cities. Turkish Airline is the newest entrant in the airline business and is now running three flights from Entebbe to Istanbul which links to other major cities in Europe and the Middle East.
The regional trade union between the East African communities that include Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda Kenya and Burundi has led to the availability of frequent flights from Entebbe into Kigali being operated by a Rwandan National Carrier –Rwanda Air which runs daily flights that later link to Bujumbura. The resent establishment of the Code Share Agreement signed between RwandAir and Air Uganda has made it possible to increase the number of flights running between Uganda and Rwanda. Today Air Uganda operates six flights between Entebbe and Dar Es Salaam Tanzania’s capital on a weekly basis three flights from Entebbe into Zanzibar. Additionally, Precision Air a Tanzanian carrier serves flight s from Entebbe to Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. South Africa Airways serves daily flights between Johannesburg and Entebbe and connects to other countries in the southern regions of Africa and this helps people to reach the booming South African markets.
For the recent years Southern Sudan has become a prime trading partner with Uganda and this has necessitated the availability of frequent flights operating between the 2 countries. Air Uganda is still the leading operator between Entebbe and Juba running daily flights in the 99-seater Md87. Other operators that used to serve that same route were suspended leaving Air Uganda as the sole operator. Among them was the Eagle Air which re-planned its operations and focused on sky-jet and charters, and a Sudanese airline that only operated for a few months.
Ethiopian Airlines operates daily flights from Entebbe to Addis Ababa and links to other African & European cities. Egypt Air and Egyptian National carrier operates continuous flights between Cairo and Entebbe and other flights into cities in North African like Tunis, Tripoli, Casablanca, Benghazi and Algiers.

Uganda is able to connect to other cities which don’t have a direst air link with Entebbe through a third city. Most of such cities are served by Ethiopian Airlines, South Africa Airways and Kenya Airways, and these are the leading African Aviation companies that are strongly built a firm continental network. By connecting through their main hubs in Addis Ababa, or Nairobi, or Johannesburg, flights have been availed to Abuja, Addis Ababa, Bangui, Brazzaville, Dakar,  Douala, Harare, Khartoum, Kinshasa, Libreville, Luanda, Lusaka, Yaounde, Pointe-Noire, N’Djamena, Mombasa, Maseru, Monrovia, Accra, Bamako, Blantyre, Cotonou, Dar Es Salaam, Djibouti Gaborone, Johannesburg, Lubumbashi, Malabo, Maputo, Mbabane, Ouagadougou, Windhoek, Abidjan, Kilimanjaro, Kisangani, Lagos, Lilongwe and Lome
Flights connecting from America’s large cities connect to Entebbe through the hubs of the key airlines. With South African Airline you can fly to Entebbe from Washington, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and New York through Johannesburg, while Egypt Air connect Montreal & New York through Cairo; Fly Emirate from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and Toronto through Dubai to Entebbe. KLM or Air France connects Vancouver, Montreal, Seattle, Detroit, Washington, Memphis, Houston, , Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Chicago, San Fran Francisco, Toronto, Minneapolis and Ottawa through Amsterdam to Entebbe . There are numerous alternatives for flights connecting the Far East with Entebbe. Kenya Airways connects Mumbai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Bangkok through Nairobi to Entebbe.  South African Airways also connects Australia to Entebbe with flights coming from Sydney to Perth through Johannesburg.

South Africa Flights

Air Travel Tips ;Traveling with kids on a plane presents some special travel concerns . Here are some tips for parents and any one travelling with children.
Book seats as early as possible , as for seats near the wash room or bulkhead. get a window seat . Seats near the wash room will provide some distraction for the people lining up to use them.

Avoid air travelling with a child under 3 months of age – air quality has become a concern and young infants are more susceptible to infections .

Space is limited in what you can bring with you , so pack carefully.
Tell your children what to expect, what you expect of them and to respect the other passengers. Do not let them kick other seats and ask them to use their quite inside voices on the plane.

Supervise your children when using washrooms on the air plane and the airport.
With older kids, give them a watch with a timer so that they can time the flight and calculate how much time is left.
Dress comfortably and take an extra change of clothes for each kid . If you are flying to a warm destination put shorts and t-shirt and vise versa.
Seriously consider purchasing a seat for children under two years of age ,even if the air line doesnot require a seat and if you buy a seat and or your kid is under five , consider taking a car seat.
Tanzania Flights

Some air lines offer skycots that can be used in the bulkhead.They will fit infants up to 20 pounds and 28 inches in length. If you want some one , book it well in advance,however, we recommend a car seat as they are much safer and you dont need to disturb your child for landing until necessary.

Ask attendant if the air line offers any surprises for kids.

Take walks through the plane to relieve boredom.
Ask for a drink for the kids about a hallf an hour before landing and then hit the washrooms

To help avoid pain in children’s ears from air pressure , have children drink or chew during take off and landing , or have small children eat crackers.
